Gingerbread House

Meredith came over last week for dinner and we decided to make a gingerbread house!
We had a lot of fun, I wish I could have had a glass of wine, it smelled so good!
I had candy instead.
Meredith was in charge of construction, I was in charge of photography.
Maddie was in charge of icing.

Testing the icing cement for quality control.
I'm guessing it passed, but just to make sure.
Repeat!
Passed inspection!
She enjoyed her cherry candy cane.
Chuck called her the joker!
A very proud project manager.
Construction is complete!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
Thank you Meredith for helping, we had a wonderful evening!
Uncle Dan, I know you wish you could have been part of the construction crew, but we needed the candy for the house!!

We're Ready Santa

After Thanksgiving I actually had a day off to get ready for Christmas. I was so excited to do my tree, and stairs. Maddie loves the Christmas Tree

Planters Cheez Ball Crisis

As you all know we are expecting.
I finally had a mild craving.

Planter's Cheez Balls
You know the ones blue can, yellow lid.

I had them when I was pregnant with Maddie. So, while Chuck was at Walgreen's I asked him to get me some. He called, and very nicely stated that they did not have any and would I like Cheetos instead? NO! DUH! They have their own unique taste, I must have them. He went to HEB, none there either. He comes home hoping that I will be satisfied with what he has.
Meanwhile, I am googling Planter's Nuts and coming up very disappointed.
Apparently they do not make cheez balls anymore. Millions of people are in uproar. Good to know that I am not alone. This does not help my craving and I am starting to get irritated.
Chuck comes in bearing gifts from the cheese gods, what are we to do?

We must have a taste test. We have three judges. You know who they are.
We actually have five but dogs will eat anything, so their votes did not count.
Here they are in no particular order.

1.) Fisher Cheese Balls
These had the advantage cause they are round. Weird after taste though, little sour like licking a battery!
2.) Cheetos Brand Crunchy Cheetos
These are wonderfully cheesy, but too crunchy, not much like a cheez ball.

3.) Cheetos Brand Cheese Puffs
Not round! Light and airy, like a cheez ball but not the same.

Tallying the results.
MMMMMMMMMMM! Cheesy Goodness!

And The Winner!

Cheetos Cheese Puffs

By default, we were too cheesed out to vote properly. Cheez Balls have now gone to snack heaven, I will forever remember their bite size yummy goodness.

This post is dedicated to Uncle Dan who shares a love of good snack food.

Pretty Princess

The other evening I asked Madeleine if she was mommy's little princess.
The answer shocked me she said "NO! I'm not a princess, I'm a big girl!"
Now, this is something I found particularly funny.

She had on a crown.

She had on a tutu. She had on mommy's pretty shoes.
She looks like a big girl.
But she's actually a princess!

Thank you, Your Royal Highness!

6th Anniversary

This Sunday is our 6th wedding anniversary. I usually will watch the video, but since we moved I have no idea where that is. So, I decided to look through our album.
I thought I would share a few of our favorite photos.
Our Unity Candle.
I our invitation hand engraved on it.
I made the bouquet.
Our vows.

Sealed with a kiss.
My yummy red velvet cake.
It came from Chuck's Bakery.
They used my mom's recipe. The End.

Happy Anniversary Honey!

Maddie's First Pie

This year Maddie made our pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving! She did a great job mixing all the ingredients together. I enjoyed helping her. She had a lot of fun.

Pouring in the ingrediants.
She got really excited

Putting the filling in the crust, it took a while.

Everyone enjoyed Maddie's Pumpkin Pie.
Thank you Maddie for the delicious pumpkin pie!

Thanksgiving Day

This Thanksgiving was the first Thanksgiving that I cooked everything. There was a special occasion, it was the first one in our new house. There was a lot of hard work involved and everything turned out delicious, and all was done at the same time. So, I will have to call it a success.
We enjoyed having Dan & Charlie for our first Thanksgiving in our new house!
